Decoding This Week's Rs. 7,681 Crore IPO Line-up

HHarsh Karagathara
•2026-08-10•8 min read

Five mainboard IPOs and four SME issues are raising nearly Rs. 7,681 crore this week. Here is a full breakdown of Dhoot Transmission, Molbio Diagnostics, Milky Mist, Shiprocket and Behari Lal Engineering to help you decide.

Decoding This Week's Rs. 7,681 Crore IPO Line-up

If your broker app notifications have been going off non-stop this week, there is a good reason for it. Starting August 10, 2026, five mainboard companies and four SME issuers opened their books almost back to back, together looking to raise close to Rs. 7,681 crore from the primary market. That is one of the busiest single weeks India has seen in months, and it puts retail investors in a slightly tricky spot, because ASBA funds get blocked the moment you apply, and with this many issues open together, you cannot realistically apply to all of them with full conviction.

This comes right on the heels of an already crowded IPO calendar. If you have been tracking the full August IPO calendar, you already know LEAP India and MV Electrosystems were part of the same broader wave, and before that, Juniper Green Energy's IPO had already tested investor appetite. So the question this week is not just whether the market can absorb another Rs. 7,681 crore, but which of these five names actually deserves your application money.

What Is Opening This Week

Here is the line-up. Dhoot Transmission and Molbio Diagnostics opened on August 10 and closed on August 12. Milky Mist Dairy Food opened a day later on August 11 and closes August 13. Shiprocket and Behari Lal Engineering opened on August 12. Together, the five mainboard issues are targeting around Rs. 7,479 crore, and four smaller SME offerings running in parallel are adding roughly another Rs. 200 crore, taking the week's combined tally to nearly Rs. 7,681 crore.

Dhoot Transmission, the biggest of the lot

Dhoot Transmission is by far the largest issue this week at Rs. 3,066.89 crore, split between a Rs. 1,400 crore fresh issue and an offer for sale worth Rs. 1,666.89 crore. The company makes wiring harnesses and electrical systems for both ICE and EV vehicles, and it reported revenue of Rs. 4,563.70 crore in FY26 against Rs. 3,472.24 crore the year before, with profit rising from Rs. 353.89 crore to Rs. 396.84 crore. The anchor book alone pulled in Rs. 918 crore from names like ICICI Prudential, SBI Mutual Fund and BlackRock, and several brokerages have recommended a subscribe rating, citing its leadership in the EV wiring harness segment and a valuation discount to listed peers.

Molbio Diagnostics, the quality diagnostics play

Molbio Diagnostics is raising Rs. 940 crore, of which only Rs. 200 crore is a fresh issue and the rest is an offer for sale. Financially, this one looks strong on paper, revenue grew from Rs. 1,027.94 crore in FY25 to Rs. 1,455.17 crore in FY26, and profit rose from Rs. 138.58 crore to Rs. 164.14 crore. The anchor book included global names like Goldman Sachs, BlackRock and IFC. The one thing worth flagging is client concentration, a meaningful chunk of revenue comes from government and aid agency contracts, which is worth keeping in mind before you apply.

Milky Mist Dairy Food, the consumer story

Milky Mist is looking to raise Rs. 1,553 crore, making it the largest IPO by an Indian dairy company so far. We have already covered this one in detail in our dedicated Milky Mist IPO review, where we dug into its margins and how it compares with listed FMCG dairy peers.

Shiprocket, the logistics enabler

Shiprocket, backed by Temasek, is raising Rs. 1,617.5 crore at a valuation of roughly Rs. 7,056 crore. This one is a pure e-commerce enablement play, helping D2C brands with shipping and logistics, and the offer for sale portion includes early backers like Lightrock and Tribe Capital exiting part of their stake.

Behari Lal Engineering, the small one worth watching

The smallest of the five, Behari Lal Engineering is raising Rs. 302 crore to fund its alloy steel and engineering castings business. It is a niche, capital intensive sector, and the muted grey market response so far suggests investors are being more cautious here compared to the bigger names.

Why This Cluster of IPOs Matters Right Now

This IPO rush is not happening in isolation. Domestic flows into equities have stayed remarkably steady through 2026, and the same appetite that has pushed the smallcap and midcap indices to fresh all-time highs is now spilling into the primary market. Strong GST collections, which crossed Rs. 2.11 lakh crore in July, have also added to the sense that domestic consumption and investor confidence are both holding up well.

It also builds on what has already been a fairly eventful IPO season. We saw how Manipal Health performed on its listing day and how Lohia Corp's debut played out, both useful references for understanding how GMP trends actually translate into real listing gains, or sometimes do not.

How to Approach Applying Across Multiple IPOs

With five mainboard issues open in the same week, the biggest constraint most retail investors will face is not conviction, it is available application money. ASBA blocks your funds the moment you apply, so if you apply to all five with the maximum retail limit, you could end up with a large chunk of your capital locked up for several days across issues you are only lukewarm about.

A more sensible approach is to rank these IPOs by conviction and spread your capital using something like the 3-5-7 rule of money management, so that no single IPO, even one you feel strongly about, ends up being an oversized bet if allotment or listing does not go your way. If you are unsure whether to apply now or wait for a better entry point post-listing, our take on the LIC OFS bid-or-wait dilemma covers a similar decision framework that applies here too.

Based purely on financials and anchor investor quality, Dhoot Transmission and Molbio Diagnostics currently look like the stronger picks in this batch, both have profitable, growing businesses and marquee anchor investors backing them. Milky Mist and Shiprocket are more consumer and platform stories where growth matters more than current profitability, so they suit investors comfortable with that kind of risk. Behari Lal Engineering, given its smaller size and more muted grey market response, is one to watch rather than rush into, at least until subscription numbers on day two and three give a clearer picture of institutional appetite.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Which IPOs are part of this Rs. 7,681 crore week?

The week includes five mainboard IPOs, Dhoot Transmission, Molbio Diagnostics, Milky Mist Dairy Food, Shiprocket and Behari Lal Engineering, along with four SME issues, together raising close to Rs. 7,681 crore.

2. Which is the biggest IPO this week?

Dhoot Transmission is the largest issue at Rs. 3,066.89 crore, followed by Shiprocket at Rs. 1,617.5 crore and Milky Mist Dairy Food at Rs. 1,553 crore.

3. Can I apply for all five IPOs at once?

You can, but ASBA blocks your funds for each application separately, so applying to all five with maximum limits could tie up a large portion of your capital. It is usually smarter to rank the IPOs by conviction and allocate accordingly.

4. Is GMP a reliable indicator of listing gains?

Grey market premium is unofficial, unregulated by SEBI, and can change daily based on sentiment. It gives a rough sense of demand but should never be the only factor behind your decision to apply.

5. Which IPO looks the strongest based on financials?

Dhoot Transmission and Molbio Diagnostics both show consistent revenue and profit growth along with strong anchor investor participation, which makes them look relatively stronger on fundamentals compared to the other issues this week.
